NOTICES:
1. First Semester Registration for Full-Time Undergraduate for 2011/2012 Session have commenced.
2. Registration for Full-Time Postgraduate will be till further notice.
3. All Students who are to Pay the First Semester/Sessional Fees should generate their Transaction ID(Authority to Pay) and Proceed to the Bank for Payment.
4. Transaction ID(Authority to Pay) can be generated by clicking on the "Make Payment" Link under the 'Make Payment Link' to generate their school fees.
5. Students who had paid their FEES can proceed to register for their Courses.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSITY
Established October 1, 1991 by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The University of Uyo inherited students, staff, academic programmes and the entire facilities of the erstwhile University of Cross River State established by Cross River State in 1983. Academic activities commenced during the 1991/92 Academic Session.
THE GOVERNING COUNCIL
The Visitor appoints the Council which is the supreme governing body for the University. The Pro-Chancellor is chairman. Members appointed from within and outside the University include the Vice-Chancellor, representatives of the Senate of the University, the Congregation, Alumni Association and representatives of the Federal Ministry of Education and Akwa Ibom State. In the heart of Uyo, capital of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria's second largest oil producing state. Uyo is easily accessible by road and there are two international airports within 150 km radius.
Currently, it operates from two temporary campuses; the Main Campus which accommodates the Central Administration, Faculties of Arts, Education, Social Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences, Pharmacy and the Post Graduate and Annex Campus, home for the Faculties of Agriculture, Business Administration, Law, Engineering, Environment Studies and General studies.
